A good breakfast is the best way to get enough energy for a fantastic day in the Riviera Maya. Among the things you can do in Playa del Carmen you can not miss the delicious juices of natural fruits. Put a straw in your glass and also enjoy your coffee and a traditional Mexican breakfast: chilaquiles, flutes, huevos rancheros, cochinita ... You choose the dish and also where to taste it: the hotel, in one of the bars in the area, in the 5th Avenue ...

2. Excursion to the cenotes

You have to choose from a good number of inland lakes of extraordinary beauty. Some of them are closely linked to the Mayan culture and were used as a place of sacrifice (Sacred Cenote) and others have required the work of water on the stone for five million years. In most of the cenotes of the Mayan Riviera the bath is allowed and many are conditioned to be more comfortable to the visitor.

3. Visit to the stemático and natural parks

In Rivivera Maya every time more care is taken to combine fun with respect to nature and the natural environment. This is the reason why some parks have become one of the most appreciated places and, without doubt, the most popular is the Xcaret Eco Park. In this theme park they offer you everything: visit underground rivers, swim with dolphins, the colorful of the butterfly, tour the Mexican jungle, discover a pre-Columbian village, walk through Mayan ruins, witness a ball game, walk through a cemetery Mexican, see the Voladores de Papantla, watch a charro show ...

Put on your diving goggles and immerse yourself in the crystalline waters of the Caribbean Playa del Carmen and, if you also want to enjoy the most spectacular backgrounds, come to Cozumel to discover a beautiful and majestic coral reef. Of course, we also recommend the practice of this sport activity in the underground lakes, although in some of them you must be accompanied by an experienced guide.

5. Excursion to Mayan ruins.

There are many Mayan ruins and you will have to choose. Some agencies offer tours that combine the visit to several facilities and tell you the history of one of the most important civilizations in the History of Humanity. We are in a World Heritage Site and you have to see with your own eyes such emblematic places as Chichén Itzá, the Archaeological Zone of Tulum or El Palenque, Cobá, Xcaret ...

6. Parish of Our Lady of Carmen

You'll identify it right away, as soon as you walk down 5th Avenue. You have to check this church. It is very small, but with a beautiful architecture. Inside, instead of an altarpiece, this chapel in Playa del Carmen has a huge window that allows you to admire beautiful views of the sea.

Both day and night, some beaches in the area offer music throughout the day. Some are especially famous and they offer their sessions the most important dj's of the international electronic scene, at the height of Ibiza or New York. You can start at Playa Mamitas, a modern beach in the sun, on the sand of Playa del Carmen. Party, rhythm, shots and Caribbean in an explosive mix, like the Corona Sunset Festival, in the most famous beach club.

Circo del Sol has designed a very special show for the Mexican public. Under the name of Joyà, the story tells how a rebellious young woman is sent by her naughty grandfather to an initiatory journey through generations. The setting and the atmosphere have been inspired by the Mayan culture and the life cycle of the monarch butterfly.

An unforgettable and very romantic experience. These organized cruises usually pick you up at your hotel and take you to a sailboat. The route on board lasts a couple of hours and, while you watch the sunset on the Caribbean horizon, you will enjoy a few appetizers and cocktails to the sound of the music.

'La Quinta' is a spectacle in itself. This street is the main artery of the most jovial and colorful of Playa del Carmen. Restaurants of all nationalities, souvenir shops, bars where pistear margaritas, tequilas or some very cold chelas, the best clubs with current music and live performances ... anything is possible on Fifth Avenue.
